Wildcard Reflection
I wrote this peace primarily for this portfolio, in hopes that it would fit the theme well. When I sat down to write, I hadn't the slightest idea of what I wanted to write about but words just began flowing. At first it was a descriptive piece, describing an environment that I have invisioned multiple times as a future home out in the countryside. I love describing a peaceful nature setting and the beauty that most people often miss. However, when I finished describing the wheat field and the "peacefullness that surrounded me", I felt that something was missing. My character was alone. If i was talking so much about comfort and peace and happiness, why was she alone? So I decided to add in company, family and friends, familiar and strange. In doing so, I was able to convey the joy and wonderfulness of having loved ones surrounding you. My family is such an important part of my life and I wouldn't be anywhere without them. They have gotten me through so many rough times in my life and their joy and love has never left me nor will it ever. I am so blessed to be able to have them in my life and know that thier support will forever be with me. I think this piece speaks volumes about how one can only truly be happy when they are in the presence of the people the love and that no one should have to be alone and without anyone.
